Collection: GOLD

Maria Avillez Jewellery offers the possibility of purchasing pieces in 800 Gold and 375 Gold. All pieces presented on the website in gold-plated silver can be produced in gold, upon client's budget approval. In addition, it also creates custom pieces in these types of gold, drawing inspiration from conversations with clients to create a unique piece.

What is the difference between 800 gold (19-karat gold) and 375 gold (9-karat gold)?

Portuguese legal gold in jewellery production is 19k gold. For every kilogram of this gold, 800g is pure gold, and the remaining 200g are alloys (necessary to make the material malleable for creation). On the other hand, in 9k gold, 375g of that kilogram is pure gold, and the remaining 625g are alloys. 375 gold has the same advantage of never needing the maintenance that gold-plated silver entails, while offering more accessible prices than gold. It always comes with an initial 24k gold plating, starting to turn into a more pinkish gold tone, which will no longer require maintenance.
